		INFRASTRUCTURE Planning and coordination are key to the successful implementation of infrastructure contracts, a task well suited to the KBAS Management Organization. WATER & ELECTRICITY The rapid development of Qatar in the past 20 years has necessitated the continuous upgrading of Water and Electricity distribution systems. KBAS Construction Company, has played an important part in this aspect of the development of the country, having carried out extensive cable and main laying contracts in Mesaieed industrial city as well as a major contract for main laying for the prestigious peninsular development in the West Bay area of Doha. SEWERAGE The flat topography of Qatar frequently requires sewers to be laid at considerable depth with regular use of pumping stations. With 90% of excavation being in very hard rock, often requiring blasting, and a water table at times no more than 4m below ground level, necessitating dewatering techniques, the laying of sewers in Qatar is a slow and arduous operation. In contrast to excavation in massive rock, KBAS Construction Company have successfully completed sewer excavation and pumping station construction to a depth of 13m in reclaimed land, necessitating the use of specialist machines and extensive dewatering.
